Job Description:
We are looking for a data analyst intern with a strong sense of social mission. This role is seconded to NTUC First Campus (NFC), as a part of NFC’s multidisciplinary data team consisting of data engineers, data scientists and data analysts. You will report to the NFC Data Lead, who is accountable to the NFC Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer and the NTUC Nexus Chief Data Officer. As an analyst intern, you will contribute to NFC’s mission of delivering quality early childhood services to children and families by helping the organisation harness the value of her data. In your work, you will conduct data analysis in a cloud-based environment, and have opportunities to work with key business stakeholders on high impact data projects within NFC and across other NTUC social enterprises.
Besides being plugged into NFC, you will continue to be a member of the NTUC Nexus family, a vibrant tech community made up of individuals passionate about tech and social good.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated data wrangler who has a knack for problem solving, to effectively support the development and implementation of data solutions. He/she should possess fundamental skills for data processing and interpretation to derive valuable insights, and is able to present those insights coherently to stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
● Keen interest in understanding and solving business problems with data
● Possesses a good grasp of concepts, techniques and considerations in statistics and data analytics
● Knowledge in machine learning/data science is a plus
● Major in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Social Science, or related disciplines. Relevant work experiences and/or training and certifications (e.g. Coursera) may also be considered
● Familiarity with analytics programming languages (e.g. Python, R)
● Familiarity with database languages (e.g. SQL) is a must
● Well-versed in data storytelling best practices and has hands-on experience with data visualisation software such as Google Data Studio and Tableau
● Strong oral and written communication skills
● Self-starter with attention to details, able to work both independently and as part of a team to drive and deliver projects
● Knowledge of Cloud technologies is a good-to-have
